★ About

The dragon soars overhead in a kaleidoscope of gorgeous colors, lighting up the night sky. Its scales glitter and spark as they streak across a starry backdrop. The city lights are low, so that everyone can see without too much trouble. It’s customary, as a dragon is passing, to make a wish for things to come. This dragon falls auspiciously at the turn of the new year, when wishes are most hopeful and the future is bright.

As the beast passes, celestial citizens hunt all across New Centuary for colorful scale fragments. They’re said to bring good luck, and make wishes come true! Inscribing one’s wish on the back of a large enough scale means their desire is all but guaranteed. It’s a great time for reflection, and for looking forward.

★ Prompt

Draw or write about your character's experience the meteor shower and making a wish or resolution for the new year.

✦ Where do they make their wish? At home in silent contemplation of the future? At a rowdy party under the starts? A close group of friends making their wishes together?

✦ Does your character join in on the scale hunting tradition? What kinds do they find? Do they incribe their wish onto a scale?

✦ What do they hope the new year will bring? Health, fame, fortune, luck, love...

You may focus on just the meteor shower, your character's wish/resolution, or both!

★ Minimum Requirements

✦ For visual art submissions:
Must be full color
Must show at least 25% of 1 characters
Minimal background require to show where the character is (can't just be a transparent, flat or abstract background)
✦ For written submissions:
Must be at least 300 words
Must clearly be about OR written from the perspective of the character

★ Restrictions

✦ Can be completed once per person!
✦ Apparel items that grant a bonus must clearly be worn. Trinkets do NOT have to be visible but can optionally be incorporated.
✦ You may use up to 1 companion, 1 adult mount, 1 apparel item, and 1 trinket on a single entry.
